HISTORY OF THE ISEG/GGSD-2026 MEGA SYMPOSIUM
A brief timeline and past symposia
The GGSDS 2026 Symposium is an outgrowth of the regular ISEG conferences/symposium which started in 1993 with the continuing objective of applying technical and social science knowledge from a diversity of disciplines to address critical issues in sustainable development. Some of the more recent symposia are listed below:
- 2024 — 5th International Society of Environmental Geotechnology Intermediate Symposium and High-Level Forum on Environmental GeoEngineering. Chair: Prof. Shi Bin, ISEG President.
- 2022 — 13th Int. Symposium on Environmental Geotechnology and Global Sustainable Development, Nanjing, China. Chair: Prof. Shi Bin.
- 2014 — 3rd ISEG Intermediate Symposium, Seoul, South Korea. Chair: Prof. Jai-Young Lee.
- 2008 — 9th Int. Symposium, Hong Kong, China. Chairs: Dr. Albert Yeung and Dr. Irene Lo.
- 2007 — Int. Conference on Waste Management, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Chair: Dr. Joze Kortnik.
